A Passion for Handcrafted Art
Mark Gillem has been creating handcrafted art in Bend, Oregon for over two decades, drawing inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement and the timeless designs of Frank Lloyd Wright. Working from a small studio, each piece is carefully designed and meticulously crafted by hand.
What began as a fascination with stained glass has evolved into a multi-disciplinary practice encompassing metal work and woodcrafts. The common thread through all mediums is a deep respect for natural materials, geometric patterns, and the honest expression of craftsmanship.
Every commission begins with a conversation. Understanding the space, the light, and the vision allows each piece to become something truly personal and meaningful.
Design Philosophy
Mark draws inspiration from the landscapes and colors of the high desert and mountains of Central Oregon. Influenced by the craftsman aesthetic, each piece celebrates the beauty of natural materials and honest construction. Geometric patterns, clean lines, and warm earth tones create works that feel both timeless and contemporary and nature-fueled.
The goal is never simply decoration, but to create functional art that enhances daily life and connects people to the tradition of handmade objects.
